DOROTHY’S FLOWER BASKET    Designed by Dorothy Ashley

     Dorothy Ashley

2004 Winner of The Statement of Excellence Award in Appliquéd Quilts--Hand Quilted

presented by Su Smith from Mt Juliet Quilt & Things at the Tennessee State Fair.

Dorothy has been quilting for 30 years and has made 55 full size quilts. For the first part of her life she was interested in acrylic painting, but after picking up quilting the painting became secondary. Her personal goal is to make a quilt a month for the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.

Dorothy and her husband Earl moved to Lebanon 14 years ago from Chicago. Dorothy is very proud of the support Earl lends to her quilting (he does the math).

Dorothy belongs to Peacemakers Quilt Club in Lebanon and has two daughters and two granddaughters.
